Financial Accountant - 6 month FTC

Location: Hybrid - West Midlands (2 days office, 3 days remote)

Salary: Up to £60K + Benefits

A confidential opportunity has arisen to join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed business with operations across multiple international markets. The organisation operates in a regulated environment, providing innovative products and services to a large and expanding customer base.

This is a pivotal time for the business as it embarks on a significant transformation journey, with ambitious growth targets, investment in technology, and a focus on operational excellence. As part of this journey, we are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a specialist division supporting regulated financial products, for an initial 6 months to cover a busy period for the organisation.

The Role

This is a key role within a growing finance team, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting external regulatory requirements, and contributing to process improvements across the finance function. The position will offer broad exposure to both technical financial accounting and commercial finance activities, reporting directly to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory and management accounts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintenance of rigorous financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
• Support regulatory reporting and external audit requirements.
• Assist with tax submissions and VAT returns.
• Collaborate with wider teams on process improvements and systems development.
• Provide financial analysis to support decision making and business planning.
• Assist with cashflow forecasting and treasury processes.

The Person

We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation and proven experience in financial reporting and control. Experience within a regulated, fast-paced environment would be advantageous.

You will need to be adaptable, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in a change-driven environment. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
