The Role

I am looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Ecologist to join an expanding ecology team in Birmingham. Working within a multi-disciplinary consultancy, you will collaborate closely with planners, landscape architects, environmental scientists on a diverse portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial, infrastructure and public sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Ecologist seeking greater responsibility, project ownership and career progression within a supportive and technically focused environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage ecological projects from inception to completion

*

Undertake and supervise a range of protected species and habitat surveys including protected species, UK Hab, and PEAs.

Prepare high-quality technical reports

*

Provide ecological advice

*

Manage budgets and client communications

*

Mentoring junior staff members

Requirements

*

Relevant degree e.g. Ecology, Zoology etc

*

4+ years consultancy experienced

*

Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation

*

Excellent report writing and technical review skills

*

Protected species license – GCN, Bat.

*

Good organisational and communication skills

*

Full UK driving license
