Assistant Accountant
I'm currently recruiting for an Interim Assistant Accountant to support a well‑established distribution business based in Garretts Green . This is a long‑term interim opportunity , offering hybrid working and a steady, hands‑on role within a supportive finance team.
The role:Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Interim Assistant Accountant will support day‑to‑day finance operations and assist with month‑end reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with month‑end close , including journals and accruals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting management accounts preparation
- Bank reconciliations and cash postings
- Assisting with VAT and statutory reporting where required
- Supporting Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger as needed
- Ad‑hoc finance analysis and reporting
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar interim finance role
- Confident with journals, reconciliations and month‑end processes
- Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced distribution or operational environment
- Available for a long‑term interim assignment
