Interim Tax Manager - Contract Opportunity

Duration: 9-12 months (potential to extend). Birmingham based.

Robert Half are supporting a client seeking an experienced Interim Tax Manager to deliver immediate value across a range of UK tax matters during a period of transition and change.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role suited to an individual who can operate with autonomy, provide technical oversight, and support the business on both compliance and project-driven tax activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of UK corporate tax compliance , including review/oversight of returns and computations
• Management of tax reporting , including year-end and quarterly provisions
• Acting as key contact for HMRC queries and audits
• Supporting on VAT matters , including partial exemption and complex supply chains
• Advising the business on tax risk, governance, and controls
• Supporting ongoing tax projects (e.g. restructuring, process improvement, systems implementation)
• Partnering with finance and wider stakeholders to ensure tax considerations are embedded in decision making

Candidate Profile

• Qualified tax professional (ACA / ACCA / CTA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in an Interim or hands-on Tax Manager role
• Strong technical knowledge across corporation tax and VAT
• Ability to quickly assess issues and implement pragmatic, commercial solutions
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
