The Opportunity..
An established national contractor is looking to appoint an ambitious Estimator to join its Birmingham office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects across both public and private sector clients, with tender values ranging from £1m to £50m.
The successful Estimator will play a key role within the pre-construction team, taking responsibility for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a wide range of construction projects including public sector frameworks (DfE), Defence and MOJ to private sector developments such as residential and commercial schemes.

The Role..
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions from first principles.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Producing bills of quantities and take-offs.
- Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Managing the tender process from enquiry through to submission.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities and commercial risks.
- Liaising with internal departments, clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
- Attending tender review meetings and site visits where required.
- Using Conquest estimating software to produce accurate cost plans and tender pricing.
Key Requirements..
- Previous experience working as an Estimator for a main contractor.
- Experience pricing projects ranging upwards of £10m.
- Proficient in Conquest estimating software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines.
