Food Technology Teaching Role in a Growing Academy

About the Role
You will teach Food Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering lessons that combine theoretical knowledge with practical cooking sessions. Students will develop an understanding of nutrition, food safety, and preparation techniques.
You will support students preparing for GCSE Food Technology, helping them develop both coursework and practical assessment skills.
The role includes maintaining a safe and organised kitchen environment and ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues to support consistent curriculum delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
Deliver practical cooking lessons and theory-based sessions
Teach nutrition, hygiene, and food preparation techniques
Prepare students for GCSE Food Technology assessments
Maintain kitchen equipment and resources
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
Assess student work and provide structured feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Good organisational and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching GCSE Food Technology
Experience working in a practical teaching environment
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
