1:1 Teaching Assistant

• Location: Kings Heath, Birmingham B14
• Weekly Pay: £500 - £525
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm (term time only)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Contract: Long-term, with potential to become permanent

Long Term Futures are searching for a patient, resilient and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our partner mainstream primary schools in Maypole, Birmingham.

This is a 1:1 role supporting a Year 3 pupil with a diagnosis of ASD. The pupil is verbal but can present with challenging behaviour and requires consistent, structured support to help manage emotions and remain engaged in learning. You will play a key role in implementing behaviour strategies and supporting both academic and social development.

The role is offered on a long-term basis with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

What the school is looking for:

• Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience: Strong experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis within a primary school setting.
• Skills: Experience supporting pupils with ASD and managing challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge: Understanding of behaviour management strategies, emotional regulation techniques and supporting pupils with additional needs within the classroom.
