Global Product Portfolio Director

Global Product Portfolio Director opportunity. A newly created global role for an experienced, commercially minded Portfolio Director to manage a £Multi Million category across the UK, Europe and RoW. This role spans both B2B and B2C markets and involves regular group international travel.Excellent package, UK headquarters, Midlands / hybrid working plus travel.

The Role

The Global Portfolio Director is accountable for the global strategy, performance, and development of the product portfolio, owning the P&L and driving growth through investment, innovation, and lifecycle decisions.

As part of the Group Product & Portfolio Leadership Team, the role sets strategic direction for product management, aligning commercial, technical, and operational functions to deliver a unified global approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Own global P&L, delivering revenue, margin, and growth targets
• Define and execute global product and portfolio strategy
• Lead the global product management function and standards
• Develop and deliver strategic and operational portfolio plans
• Manage product roadmap, lifecycle, and investment priorities
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the portfolio
• Lead cross-functional alignment (Product, Sales, Marketing, R&D)
• Oversee global pricing strategy and market positioning
• Identify and evaluate M&A and investment opportunities
• Use market and competitor insights to inform strategy
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to optimise cost and delivery
• Ensure alignment with brand, sustainability, and customer strategy
• Review performance and present insights to senior stakeholders
• Build and lead a high-performing global team

Requirements

Your Experience

• Significant global/group-level product, category or portfolio leadership, gained from FMCG / manufacturing / product sales.
• Proven P&L ownership and commercial delivery.
• Strong commercial, financial and strategic capability.
• Demonstrated experience in investment and capital allocation decision-making.
• Experience leading cross-functional, cross-regional teams.
• Skilled in influencing, decision-making and stakeholder management.
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle and market-led innovation.
• Familiarity with product development processes.
• Exposure to manufacturing and supply chain.
• Knowledge of sustainability and product stewardship principles.
• Additional US or European market experience or languages.
