HR & Payroll Officer - Birmingham - January 2026
A large, well-organised secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive HR & Payroll Officer to join its central administration team from January 2026.
This role plays a vital part in supporting staff across the school, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliant HR systems in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
The Role
Working closely with senior leaders and external payroll providers, you will manage HR administration from recruitment through to contract changes and payroll submission.
Responsibilities include:
Managing payroll data, starters, leavers and contract variations
Maintaining accurate personnel records and HR systems
Supporting recruitment, onboarding and compliance checks
Advising staff on HR and pay-related queries
Supporting absence monitoring and reporting
