We are seeking to appoint a Faculty Head for English and Maths

Aims of Job/Job Purpose
The Faculty Head of Maths and English provides strategic leadership, management and quality assurance for all English and Mathematics provision across the College. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will lead curriculum development, quality improvement, learner achievement and staff performance to ensure outstanding outcomes and an exceptional learner experience.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Provide leadership for English and Mathematics across the College.
Contribute to strategic and annual planning processes.
Develop and communicate a clear vision for Maths and English provision.
Ensure effective communication between Senior Leadership Team and curriculum teams.
Have a strategic responsibility for ensuring learners receive an outstanding experience to enable them to successfully complete their studies and progress to the next level.
Ensure standards of learner’s progress, attainment and achievement are raised within all the college centers.
Be accountable for learner progress and development within the faculty areas.
To understand the multi-faceted needs of learners with a focus on individuals
Be accountable for compliance with all College processes and systems within your faculty.
Be accountable for leading, managing and developing the curriculum areas within the faculty in line with the faculty remit for English and Maths
To lead on the development of an inclusive curriculum and learning environment for learners, where diversity is reflected and valued and expectations of success are high.
Ensure the curriculum offer fits into the learning and skills environment and is responsive to employers and the community, meeting funding priorities and faculty targets.
As a Faculty Head the appointee will be expected to:
Provide inspirational leadership to raise standards and quality of the learner experience.
Lead the faculty by providing a professional, positive, pro-active and creative approach in line with the remit of the faculty
Lead the planning for the implementation and delivery of that plan within the faculty and the monitoring of recruitment, achievement and efficiency throughout the year.
Curriculum Leadership and Development
Lead and manage on the formulating of aims, objectives and curriculum plans, for all aspects of English and Mathematics curriculum provision.
Lead on the development and implementation of systems to ensure that learners receive a consistent, quality service throughout the learner journey
Be accountable for the data relating to your faculty on the College systems
Responsible for improving achievement targets for English and Maths
Develop strategies to bring innovation into teaching and learning
Develop innovative curriculum resources and strategies for improving learner outcome.
Be responsive to government changes relating to English and Maths.
Attend external events and committees associated with new initiative and improving English and Maths
Quality Improvement and Performance
Lead the English and Maths Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
Produce self-assessment, SAR and improvement planning processes.
Monitor learner attendance and work with Curriculum Heads of Faculty and Heads of School to initiate strategies to improve attendance in English and Maths lessons.
Analyse performance data and ensure implementation interventions are in place for students at risk.
Be accountable for ensuring the implementation of the College's quality processes is effective in continuous improvement for students' outcomes and learner satisfaction against performance targets.
Ensure overall achievement of performance targets including retention, achievement, and attendance & punctuality, funding targets including income and learner number targets
Provide directions to the Heads of Schools and managers within the faculty to produce improvement plans and monitor their successful implementation
Provide directional support to produce effective improvement plans and monitor, analyse and evaluate the impact of them.
Advise the college Senior Leadership Team of any quality issues and the action plan to address these and the impact of these action plans
