WEF has approximately 2000 pupils on roll across the trust. It develops, brokers and delivers a range of services which support learning, leadership, management and improve outcomes for children and young people. Waverley School is an all-through school for pupils aged 4-19. It has a Primary and Secondary Resource Base for pupils with cognition and learning difficulties. Waverley Studio College is a specialist academy catering for 14 – 19-year-old pupils which offers both academic and vocational qualifications. Both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College were graded ‘Good’ in their Section 5 Ofsted Inspections in September 2021 and September 2022 respectively. The primary phase of Waverley School is a larger than average primary school. We have state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training and a strong staff team that are committed to the learning and development of all our pupils. We are at an exciting point in our journey, and this September will see the launch of our new nursery with 42 places for 2–4-year-olds. We believe outdoor provision is a second classroom, messy play is serious learning, and every child deserves the best start. The role: You will work within our Nursery provision, supporting the Nursery Teacher and working closely with our Senior Leader for EYFS and the wider Early Years team. You will play a key role in delivering a high quality, play based EYFS curriculum across all seven areas of learning, with a strong emphasis on Communication and Language and Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED). High quality free flow, all weather outdoor learning is a core part of our practice and is non negotiable. You will help create a safe, stimulating and enabling environment where children feel secure, confident and motivated to learn through purposeful play. We Are Looking for Someone Who: • Holds a full and relevant Early Years qualification at the appropriate Level and has experience working within the EYFS, ideally in Nursery • Has a secure understanding of child development and what high quality Early Years practice looks like in action • Is passionate about play based learning, outdoor provision and high quality adult–child interactions • Can build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues, recognising that many of our families speak English as an Additional Language • Can contribute to observations, assessment and identifying next steps to support children’s progress from their starting points • Supports children’s language development, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour, in line with EYFS expectations • Is keen to work as part of a collaborative EYFS team and contribute positively to the wider life of the school We Can Offer You: • A spacious, well resourced nursery environment with continuous indoor and outdoor free flow provision • A supportive and knowledgeable Senior Leadership Team with a strong understanding of Early Years practice; our EYFS Lead is a Director of Learning for Early Years • Access to high quality professional development, including EYFS focused CPD, coaching and a developing local EYFS network • Happy, confident and diverse children who make every day rewarding and joyful We warmly welcome and strongly encourage prospective candidates to visit the setting prior to application.
