SEN Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Bordesley Green, B9 Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day Start Date: September Start Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm Contract: Long-Term with Potential Permanent OpportunityLong Term Futures are recruiting for a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school from September. This role will be based primarily within the school's specialist SEN provision, supporting pupils across EYFS and Key Stage 1 who require additional support to access learning and develop key social, emotional and communication skills. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established SEN team, supporting children with a range of needs including Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, developmental delays and SEMH needs. The provision offers a structured, nurturing environment designed to help pupils thrive both academically and emotionally. The Role Support pupils within the school's SEN provision across EYFS and KS1 Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support based on individual learning plans and EHCP targets Deliver structured interventions focusing on communication, early learning and social development Support pupils with emotional regulation, sensory needs and transitions throughout the school day Adapt activities and resources to ensure all pupils can access learning effectively Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, the SENCO and wider support staff Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviews and target settingThe Ideal Candidate Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or above (preferred) Previous experience supporting children with SEN within EYFS, KS1 or a specialist provision Strong understanding of Autism, communication needs and early childhood development Experience working with EHCPs and targeted interventions Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential Team Teach, Makaton or relevant SEN training would be advantageousAbout the School Inclusive two form-entry primary school with a well-resourced SEN provision Strong commitment to early intervention and inclusive practice Supportive and experienced SEN leadership team Child-centred approach focused on individual progress and wellbeing Excellent opportunities for professional development and SEN training Collaborative and welcoming staff cultureOur 5-Step Process Apply - Submit your CV Initial Call - Discuss your experience and preferences Compliance - Complete the necessary checks Trial Day - Meet the school and team Start Work - Begin your new role with ongoing support from Long Term FuturesApply with your CV today to discuss this role in further detail.
