About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, security, and general upkeep of the school site. You will work closely with the leadership team and facilities staff to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs around the school site

  • Ensuring buildings, grounds, and facilities are clean, safe, and secure

  • Monitoring heating, lighting, and other building systems

  • Supporting health and safety compliance, including fire safety and risk assessments

  • Responding to emergencies and performing minor repairs as required

  • Assisting with the setup of school events, assemblies, and activities

  • Liaising with contractors and service providers as needed

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in maintenance, caretaking, or facilities management, ideally in a school environment

  • Be confident using hand tools, basic maintenance equipment, and safety procedures

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Be reliable, proactive, and able to work independently

  • Understand health and safety regulations and compliance requirements

  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
