Senior Mechanical Engineer
Senior Mechanical Engineer (Client-Facing MEP Role)
North West 50,000 - 60,000
A growing MEP consultancy is continuing to expand following a significant uplift in workload across multiple sectors and is now looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing project delivery and client engagement.
The business has seen substantial growth this year, particularly within the education sector, alongside increasing diversification into logistics warehouses, housing association developments, and commercial office schemes. Their current workload pipeline is strong, with a significant volume of secured and upcoming projects across the North West.
This is a client-facing position where you will take ownership of both design delivery and on-site coordination. You will work closely with contractors, developers, contract administrators, and end clients, acting as a key technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. The role is split approximately 50% design work and 20-30% site-based activity, including technical problem solving, resolving design issues, and supporting construction delivery on site.
The business is particularly interested in engineers who are confident engaging directly with clients and external stakeholders, as this individual will take on a key portion of client responsibility within the team.
Key project sectors include:
- Education (c.70% of workload)
- Logistics and industrial warehouses
- Social housing / housing associations
- Office and commercial developments
The team has grown to around 12 people and is continuing to scale following a period of rapid expansion, with a strong pipeline of secured work and long-term development plans in place. They are now looking to strengthen their mechanical capability further at senior level.
Requirements:
- Strong background in mechanical building services design (intermediate to senior level considered)
- Confident client-facing and site experience
- Ability to manage technical delivery and resolve on-site design issues
- Experience across education or similar public sector projects advantageous
- Comfortable working across design, coordination, and contractor liaison
This is an opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation in their core sectors, a secure workload pipeline, and a collaborative environment where engineers are trusted with real project ownership and client responsibility.
