Join Lift Greenwood – An Exciting Time to Be Part of Our Journey

Lift Greenwood is seeking an exceptional Pastoral Leader: Head of Accelerate to lead the pastoral provision for our Year 7 cohort, ensuring every student experiences a successful transition into secondary school and develops a strong sense of belonging, wellbeing, and achievement.

This is a pivotal leadership role within the academy, focused on supporting students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with students, families, staff, and external agencies, you will champion high standards of behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, and pastoral care, helping to create a culture where every child can succeed.

Lift Greenwood is a progressive secondary school within Lift Schools, an ambitious multi-academy trust of 59 schools, including 10 across the Midlands. Lift Schools is committed to providing excellent education in every classroom, every day, and to developing staff through strong training and career progression opportunities.
Under the leadership of Daniel Opoku, Lift Greenwood is a progressive secondary school with a clear and ambitious vision. Since his appointment, Daniel has laid a strong foundation and is committed to ensuring that Greenwood becomes one of the best schools in the country by 2030.

The school has a strong sense of community, fosters positive relationships, and is committed to ensuring every pupil is supported to succeed.

The Role

As Head of Accelerate, you will have overall pastoral responsibility for our Year 7 students, supporting them through the important transition from primary to secondary education and ensuring they feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
You will work collaboratively with tutors, teachers, senior leaders, families, and external agencies to deliver high-quality pastoral support, promote excellent attendance and behaviour, and remove barriers to learning. You will monitor student wellbeing and progress, implement targeted interventions, and use data effectively to identify trends and drive improvement.

The role includes supporting the academy’s behaviour systems, responding to pastoral concerns, working with vulnerable students and families, and contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a passionate and resilient individual who is committed to supporting young people to succeed.
The successful candidate will have experience working with young people, promoting high expectations, and supporting positive behaviour and attendance. They will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, be confident using data to inform interventions, and have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

You will be calm under pressure, solution-focused, and able to work effectively with students, families, colleagues, and external agencies to secure the best possible outcomes for every child.

Experience in an educational setting, working with vulnerable students, SEND pupils, or external support services, would be advantageous.
