School Receptionist - Birmingham
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organised School Receptionist to join a busy primary school in Birmingham, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors, ensuring the school runs smoothly and efficiently.

The receptionist plays a vital role in supporting the leadership team, office staff, and wider school community, ensuring communications are handled promptly and professionally.
As the School Receptionist, you will manage the school office, answer incoming calls and emails, greet visitors, and provide administrative support to staff. Your role will be crucial in maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Greet parents, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner
Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to emails promptly
Maintain accurate pupil and staff records, ensuring confidentiality
Manage the signing-in and out process for visitors and contractors
Support general administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and data entry
Assist with communication to parents and staff regarding events and notices
Help organise school events, meetings, and appointments
Support the leadership team and office staff as needed
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, GDPR, and school procedures
Maintain a welcoming, tidy, and professional reception area
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, ideally in a school
Be friendly, approachable, and professional at all times
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be highly organised, reliable, and proactive
Be confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems
Be able to work independently as well as part of a team
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
