Monarch Education are recruiting for qualified Teaching Assistants to support a secondary school in the small heath region from September.

The school are looking for confident, reliable and skilled support staff who can work with students across a range of needs and abilities. A variety of backgrounds and skillsets will be considered, including graduates, academic mentors, SEMH specialists and support staff with intimate care training.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity, ideal for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them make positive progress in school.

What the role will involve:

  • Supporting students in lessons across the curriculum
  • Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Helping students stay focused, engaged and on task
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs
  • Assisting with academic progress, confidence and independence
  • Supporting behaviour in line with school expectations
  • Delivering targeted interventions where required
  • Providing personal care/intimate care where trained and appropriate
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND team
  • Promoting a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

The school are looking for someone who has:

  • A recognised TA qualification or relevant school-based experience
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Confidence supporting students in a school environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient and proactive approach
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • Ability to support students with different needs and abilities
  • Experience with SEND, SEMH or intervention work would be beneficial
  • Reliability, professionalism and a strong work ethic
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

This role would suit someone who is passionate about education and wants to make a real difference to students who may need additional academic, emotional or behavioural support.
