Private Client Tax Associate Director - Birmingham
A leading international professional services firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax professional to join its growing team in Birmingham at Associate Director level. You will work with the partner and other colleagues on a variety of planning projects and technical assignments and be involved in business development opportunities.

The Role
Joining a well-established Private Client Tax team, the successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio including high-net-worth individuals, trustees, partnerships, sole traders, and family-owned businesses. The role combines both advisory and compliance responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining client relationships and delivering strategic tax advice.
As an Associate Director, responsibilities will include:
* Managing and developing key client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser
* Leading a variety of complex advisory and technical tax projects
* Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities
* Collaborating with senior stakeholders to expand service offerings
* Overseeing the delivery of high-quality compliance and advisory work
* Leading, mentoring, and developing junior team members
* Ensuring effective team management, including workflow planning and review processes
* Working closely with other service lines to deliver a seamless client experience
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, technically strong, and passionate about delivering exceptional client service. They will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be confident leading both people and projects.
Key requirements include:
* CTA and/or ACA qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Strong technical knowledge of private client tax matters
* Proven experience managing client portfolios and delivering advisory projects
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
* Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff
* Strong organisational and project management capabilities
