Students are encouraged to think critically about the world around them and to develop confidence in geographical language.
At GCSE, the department places strong emphasis on case study application, evaluative writing and exam technique. Teaching is supported by shared resources and clear assessment strategies, enabling students to make strong progress across all abilities.
Teachers are encouraged to contribute to curriculum development and bring contemporary geographical issues into the classroom.
The Geography Department
The Geography department is a stable and collaborative team, working closely together on shared schemes of work, assessments and resources. Department meetings focus on curriculum refinement, effective teaching strategies and student progress rather than unnecessary administration.
