Now Education is an established children’s home provider seeking an ambitious professional with an excellent understanding of the running of children’s homes. The suitable applicant will hold relevant children’s homes qualifications, or a social work, education, or healthcare degree at a minimum of degree level, with transferable knowledge of supporting children with high levels of trauma and mental health needs.

The successful candidate will be motivated to learn, develop, and achieve the best outcomes for children and young people who have experienced significant trauma.

Salary

Up to £80,000

Role Purpose

To act as the Ofsted Registered Responsible Individual for one of Now Education’s therapeutic children’s homes, holding legal responsibility in line with relevant legislation and ensuring all homes meet required standards.

To provide effective leadership and ensure high-quality management across Now Education’s Ofsted-registered homes for children and young people.

To ensure consistent, high standards of care in line with legislation, government guidance, regulations, and Now Education’s policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and report on residential homes to ensure they meet their Statement of Purpose and operate in line with statutory requirements and Now Education policies
Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (including Quality Standards) and Regulation 44 inspections
Support managers in preparation for Ofsted inspections
Provide formal and informal supervision to registered managers, supporting development and identifying training needs
Offer leadership, guidance, and management support to registered managers
Ensure young people are effectively safeguarded at all times
Promote high standards of professional practice and continuous development
Maintain accurate and effective electronic record systems
Promote a safe and healthy working environment
Support recruitment processes and oversee induction, discipline, capability, and grievance procedures
Participate in projects and organisational initiatives
Support managers in maintaining home resources, including vehicles
Ensure young people’s needs are met through effective communication and participation
Attend meetings and training as required
Person Specification

Essential:

Managerial experience within children’s homes
Experience leading, motivating, and managing staff
Strong leadership and solution-focused approach
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
Professional and credible representation of the organisation
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to reflect on practice and support others to do so
Good IT/computer literacy
