Working 36.5 hours per week

Based across Birmingham Community Library Hubs and Community Libraries

Are you passionate about early intervention and prevention, and committed to helping people improve their housing stability, financial resilience and wellbeing before issues escalate?

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Homes and Money Connected Support Manager to join our Connected Communities service on a 12‑month fixed‑term or secondment basis. This is a key delivery role focused on embedding the Homes and Money offer within community library hubs, strengthening frontline skills, and ensuring high‑quality outcomes for residents.

About the role

This role will play a central part in implementing and embedding the Homes and Money model within Connected Communities, positioning community library hubs as welcoming, preventative spaces where people can access timely support.

You will:

  • Lead the implementation of the Homes and Money model and pathway within community library hubs, ensuring the offer is accessible, consistent and impactful.
  • Design and deliver training and workforce development for Connected Communities staff, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to support people effectively through early intervention and prevention approaches.
  • Work closely with contracted partner organisations, ensuring a joined‑up approach to delivery, shared standards and consistent application of the Homes and Money offer.
  • Build strong relationships across the Connected Communities service, other council services and external partners to ensure residents receive the right support at the right time.
  • Support the embedding of outcome‑focused practice, using data and insight to demonstrate impact, inform service improvement and strengthen prevention.

Who should apply?

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to early intervention and prevention, who understands the role that communities and universal services play in improving outcomes. You will have experience of implementing services or programmes across multiple settings and be confident in training and developing staff, translating policy and frameworks into practical, front‑line practice. You will also have experience of line managing staff, providing effective support, supervision and performance management to ensure high‑quality delivery. In addition, you will have experience of working with commissioned or partner organisations, driving consistency, quality and shared standards, and be comfortable using performance and outcome data to evidence impact and support continuous improvement. You will be collaborative, proactive and motivated by making a tangible difference to people’s lives.

Please upload an up-to-date CV and Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application. The Supporting Statement should outline how you meet the criteria for the role through your personal qualities, skills and experience and include your motivation for applying to the post. Note the Personal Statement should be no more than 1500 words. Unfortunately, we cannot consider any applications without a CV and Personal Statement attached
