Job Title: Teaching Assistant (with 1:1 responsibility)
Pay Rate: £95.31 - £98.62 per day
Location: Balsall Heath
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term-time only

Smart Education is currently recruiting for multiple Teaching Assistants to support a specialist educational provision in Balsall Heath. One of the roles will include 1:1 pupil support responsibility . This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a nurturing, inclusive setting dedicated to supporting children with a range of special educational needs (SEN).

Job Requirements for this Teaching Assistant role in Balsall Heath:
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification (Level 3 desirable)

  • Experience working with young people with SEN in a school or care setting

  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, positive approach

  • Ability to work both 1:1 and with small groups of pupils

  • Understanding of how to support independence, self-esteem, and inclusion

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupils welfare

Role Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside class teachers to raise pupil engagement and achievement

  • Support pupils with learning activities, including those with EHCPs

  • Deliver personalised interventions and track pupil progress

  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence and independence

  • Provide targeted 1:1 support where required

  • Support social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Ensure pupils feel included, supported, and safe in the learning environment
