Biology Teacher - Birmingham
We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Biology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Birmingham , starting ASAP . As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will support students of varying abilities, ensuring all learners are challenged, supported, and motivated to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality Biology lessons in line with the national curriculum
Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Assess, track, and monitor student progress effectively
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL
Promote positive behaviour and high expectations in the classroom
Prepare students for GCSE and, where applicable, A-level examinations
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the science department
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have a strong subject knowledge in Biology
Have experience teaching Biology at secondary level
Be enthusiastic, organised, and reflective in their practice
Have strong classroom management skills
Be a positive team player with excellent communication skills
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
