Birmingham (City Centre Area) £14.50 - £16.00 per hour Full-Time | Permanent | Day Shift

Workforce Group are working with a leading precision tooling and presswork manufacturer based in Birmingham, supplying high-quality components into Tier 1 Aerospace and Automotive supply chains, alongside a range of specialist engineering and commercial customers.

The business operates from a modern, well-equipped facility with in-house toolroom and CNC machining capability, supporting full production control from tooling through to finished components. The environment is clean, safety-focused, and supported by an experienced engineering team.

Role Overview
As a Power Press Setter , you will be responsible for the safe setting, running, and maintenance of power presses (up to 300 tonnes). You will ensure efficient production output while maintaining high-quality standards and strict adherence to health & safety procedures.

You will report directly to the Press Shop Supervisor and play a key role in supporting daily production operations.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities
Machine Setting & Operation

Set and operate power presses in line with production requirements
Ensure presses run at optimum speed while maintaining tooling safety and integrity
Support continuous production flow and output targets

Quality Control

Carry out in-process inspections using gauges, measuring equipment, and visual checks
Work from technical drawings to ensure component accuracy
Complete all relevant quality documentation accurately

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

Operate lifting equipment safely for moving tools, materials, and components
Follow all Health & Safety procedures and wear correct PPE at all times
Maintain a clean, organised working environment in line with 5S standards

General Duties

Ensure all tooling, materials, and equipment are correctly stored and maintained
Work closely with the wider production team to meet output targets
Support a culture of continuous improvement and safe working practices

Candidate Requirements
Essential

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Power Press Setter
Valid ROSPA Certificate
Strong understanding of press tooling and safe machine operation
Ability to read engineering drawings and use inspection equipment

Desirable

FLT licence (advantageous but not essential)

Friday: 07:00 - 12:00
