The Opportunity
A high-achieving secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an inspiring English Teacher to join its dedicated faculty from January 2026. What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who:
- Holds QTS, PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has strong subject knowledge in English language and literature
- Can deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that stretch and support all learners
- Uses effective assessment and feedback to promote rapid progress
- Is reflective, collaborative and committed to continuous professional development
Experience leading reading initiatives, literacy programmes or enrichment clubs such as debating or creative writing would be an advantage.

The Role in More Detail
You will plan, teach and assess English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, developing students’ reading, writing and analytical skills through a broad, challenging curriculum. You will use feedback effectively to drive progress and help students achieve the highest standards in external examinations.
There will also be opportunities to contribute to literacy development across the school, support creative enrichment, and take part in activities that extend learning beyond the classroom — such as competitions, clubs and performance events.
