Receptionist Role in an Independent Preparatory School

An independent preparatory school in Birmingham is seeking to appoint a School Receptionist to join its administrative team as soon as possible. This is a full-time role within a welcoming and professional school environment where the reception team plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day running of the school.

The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, pupils, and staff, ensuring a professional and efficient front-of-house service.

About the Role

You will manage the main reception area, greeting visitors, handling telephone and email enquiries, and supporting general administrative duties across the school.

The role includes maintaining accurate visitor records, supporting attendance procedures, and assisting with wider office administration where required.

You will work closely with the school’s leadership and administrative staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general administrative and clerical duties

  • Assist with scheduling, appointments, and correspondence

  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems

  • Support the wider school office team where required
