Senior Quantity Surveyor – Residential Groundworks

Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum + Company Benefits About the Company Our client is a well-established residential groundworks contractor based in Northamptonshire, delivering infrastructure and groundwork packages for some of the UK’s leading housebuilders. With an annual turnover of approximately £100 million, the business has experienced sustained growth and continues to secure major residential developments across the region. Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong residential groundworks experience to join a growing and forward-thinking contractor. The successful candidate will oversee the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring profitability, cost control, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The role offers hybrid working, long-term progression opportunities, and involvement in large-scale residential infrastructure schemes. Key Responsibilities * Lead the commercial management of multiple residential groundworks projects
* Maximise contract profitability and monitor financial performance
* Prepare and agree quotations for variations and additional works
* Produce and review accurate monthly cost and value reports (CVRs)
* Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow across multiple sites
* Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and final accounts
* Work closely with operational teams and clients to resolve commercial matters
* Identify and implement value engineering opportunities
* Mentor and support junior commercial staff where required
* Maintain accurate commercial reporting and contractual documentation Skills & Experience Required * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within residential groundworks
* Strong understanding of infrastructure, roads, drainage, and foundations packages
* Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
* Experience in value engineering and cost control
* Proficient in Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
