A leading Tier 1 contractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to join their Midlands team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established main contractor delivering high-profile projects across multiple sectors including education, healthcare, justice, defence and commercial frameworks.

The Role

As Design Manager, you will take ownership of the design coordination process across multiple live projects throughout the Midlands. You will play a key role in managing consultant teams, ensuring design programmes are met, and driving quality and compliance from pre-construction through to delivery.

The role will be primarily office-based, with some flexibility for working from home. Regular site visits across the Midlands will form an important part of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating the design process from tender through to completion

• Liaising with consultants, subcontractors and internal delivery teams

• Reviewing and controlling design information to ensure programme alignment

• Identifying and mitigating design risks

• Ensuring compliance with building regulations and employer's requirements

• Supporting project teams through technical problem-solving

About You

• Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator within a main contractor environment

• Experience delivering projects within a Tier 1 or large regional contractor

• Strong technical understanding and ability to manage consultant teams

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Comfortable working across multiple sites

Salary & Package

£50,000 - £75,000 per annum (depending on experience)
