Brand & Digital Designer - Midweight

The Company: Yugen is a creative studio working with founders and teams building the next generation of companies across climate, health, medtech and emerging technology. We partner with startups and scale-ups at pivotal moments -- launching, raising, repositioning and scaling using focused design sprints to move fast and create work that carries real impact. The Role: You’ll develop brand-led creative work across identity, web and core touchpoints from initial concept through to final output. This is not an execution-only role. You’ll help shape creative direction within projects, translate strategy into strong visual systems, and ensure the work holds up across real-world applications like websites, pitch decks and campaigns. You’ll work closely with the founders, who lead on strategy. You’ll contribute to that thinking while taking ownership of creative direction across projects, with scope to grow into greater ownership over time. This is a role for someone who wants to move from being given work to actively shaping it. The Person: You’re a midweight designer with 3-5 years of experience, with brand at the core of your thinking, a clear point of view on what good looks like, and the ability to translate that into the key touchpoints where a brand lives and breathes in the real world. Your portfolio shows more than execution. It shows ideas, taste, and the ability to take something from a loose concept to a resolved, high-quality output. You’re confident talking through your work, open to challenge, and motivated to keep raising the bar on what you produce. You stay close to where design is heading. You’re curious about motion, interested in AI, and actively exploring how new tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, Midjourney/Nano Banana, After Effects/Jitter) can elevate the work rather than shortcut it. Experience with motion is a bonus. You care about the work. You want to create things that actually matter, not just look good.
