Court of Protection Paralegal Birmingham Meaningful Work £24,500 to £32,000 DOE
The firm
A growing, specialist private client firm with a strong reputation in Court of Protection and complex wealth-related matters. Known for handling sensitive, high-value and technically challenging work, the team operates in a genuinely niche space—far removed from volume-driven environments. The culture is collaborative and supportive, with a real emphasis on development, giving individuals early responsibility and exposure to meaningful client work. You’ll be joining a firm where the work is not only intellectually engaging, but also has a tangible impact on clients’ lives, particularly those requiring ongoing support and care.
The role
- Supporting a specialist Court of Protection team on a broad range of matters
- Assisting with applications, reports and preparation of key legal documentation
- Gaining exposure to both advisory and more contentious, litigation-style work within the Court of Protection sphere
- Liaising with clients, families, medical professionals and external bodies in a sensitive and professional manner
- Working closely with wider private client teams where matters overlap
- Assisting with file management, case progression and day-to-day administration
- Getting involved in a variety of tasks, offering a genuinely hands-on learning environment
- Ever wanted to move into a more specialist, meaningful area of law where the work goes beyond standard private client matters? This is exactly that kind of opportunity
- A genuine interest in Court of Protection and working with vulnerable clients
- Background as a law graduate, career changer or existing paralegal within a legal environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
- A team player who is keen to learn and develop within a specialist area
- Looking for a role where you can gain real responsibility early on rather than being confined to purely administrative tasks? You will fit in well here
- Competitive salary
- Full-time, Monday to Friday role
- Hybrid working with a balance of office and home-based work
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Additional day off for your birthday
- Option to enrol in private health insurance and dental plan
- Additional firm benefits and a supportive environment focused on development
