Quantity Surveyor

M&E Quantity Surveyor – Birmingham. A leading UK contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction and infrastructure projects is looking to appoint an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Birmingham / Nottingham. You will be joining a growing internal MEP function working alongside a progressive MEP Commercial Manager.

The Role

As M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for the mechanical and electrical packages across a range of projects from pre-construction through to final account.

You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure effective cost management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing the commercial aspects of M&E packages on live projects

* Procurement and management of specialist subcontractors

* Preparing valuations, cost reports and forecasts

* Managing variations, change control and final accounts

* Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice

* Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual requirements

* Identifying commercial risks and opportunities

* Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners

Requirements

* Previous experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor within construction or building services

* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages

* Experience working for a main contractor or specialist M&E contractor

* Good knowledge of standard forms of contract

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities

* Relevant construction or commercial qualification preferred
