The Role:
Join the English department in a developmental role designed to prepare you for teacher training. You will support pupils through 1:1 work, small-group intervention, lesson support, and targeted help with reading, writing, analysis, and exam preparation, while learning from experienced staff in a live secondary setting. Secondary school teachers work with students aged 11 to 16, or up to 19 in schools with sixth forms, which makes this a strong stepping stone into the profession.

You are articulate, organised, and able to explain ideas clearly. You want proper secondary school experience, you enjoy helping pupils improve in English, and you see this as a genuine route into teaching rather than just another temporary post. Requirements
• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.
