English Teacher - SEND School
Are you an inspiring English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a SEND setting? This fantastic specialist school in Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND English Teacher to join their team. As an English Teacher, you will teach small classes of students with a range of additional learning needs, delivering engaging and highly differentiated lessons that support literacy, communication and confidence. You will create a structured and inclusive environment where students feel safe, valued and motivated to learn. The school boasts excellent facilities and access to high-quality resources, enabling creative and effective teaching. You will be supported by a dynamic Headteacher and a collaborative team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants who are committed to achieving the best outcomes for every student. This role would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher with strong subject knowledge and a genuine interest in SEND. Previous experience working in a SEND setting is desirable but not essential. Job Role:
- Teaching English to small classes of students with SEND
- Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Supporting students’ literacy, communication and confidence
- Creating a structured, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
- Using a range of strategies and resources to meet individual needs
- Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
- Contributing to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Work in a well-resourced SEND school with excellent facilities
- Be part of a supportive and dynamic leadership team
- Teach small classes with strong staff-to-pupil ratios
- Receive ongoing support and professional development
- Be paid to scale in line with experience up to MPS 6
- Develop your SEND teaching expertise
