We are currently working with a long-established property business in Birmingham City Centre who are looking to bring in an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their finance team on a 12 month FTC.

This is a genuinely hands-on Service Charge Accountant role suited to someone who enjoys the operational side of property finance and understands the full service charge cycle from start to finish.

They’re looking for a practical Service Charge Accountant with strong property finance experience and a solid understanding of how service charge processes work day-to-day. This isn’t a role for someone straight from practice or audit; this client needs someone who has worked within a property environment and understands the service charge work flow side of the role.

The successful Service Charge Accountant will work closely with Property Managers and the wider finance team, taking ownership of service charge accounts across a varied portfolio.

Ideally you will;

* Have previous experience as a Service Charge Accountant

* Understand the full service charge process from invoice through to year-end

* Be confident preparing service charge budgets and reconciliations

* Have experience producing year-end service charge accounts

* Understand recoverable and non-recoverable costs

* Be able to build relationships with surveyors, facilities managers and property managers

* Have experience within commercial or mixed-use property
