Design & Technology (DT) Teacher - South Birmingham
A well-established secondary school in South Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join its successful DT Department. This is a full-time, permanent role, suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about practical learning and inspiring creativity in young people.

The Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical DT lessons, promoting creativity, problem-solving, and technical skill development. Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons aligned with the national curriculum and examination specifications.
Teaching across a range of DT disciplines such as resistant materials, product design, or graphics (depending on specialism).
Ensuring safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Monitoring, assessing, and reporting on student progress and attainment.
Contributing to curriculum planning and development within the department.
Supporting enrichment activities, competitions, and cross-curricular STEM initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.
Practical experience with workshop tools, machinery, and materials.
Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students of all abilities.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
