Senior / Supervising Social Worker – Midlands (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £40,081.10 per annum (dependent on experience)

Why Join Us?

We are a leading fostering agency operating across the Midlands, dedicated to making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of children, young people, and foster families. Our award‑winning service (Outstanding Ofsted rating, February 2024) combines a supportive, family‑like culture with professional excellence. The role offers a flexible hybrid model – a blend of office collaboration in Bromsgrove and remote work – allowing you to balance face‑to‑face interaction with independent responsibilities.

About the Role

As a Senior / Supervising Social Worker you will lead the development and delivery of high‑quality fostering services. You will work closely with foster parents, children, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, nurturing, and growth‑focused environments for every child in care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
  • Monitor and promote the competence and suitability of foster carers, ensuring compliance with safety and learning standards.
  • Deliver regular supervision and record keeping in line with operational standards.
  • Collaborate in a team‑parenting approach to identify and address family needs (e.g., respite, therapy, activities, holidays).
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for each child and foster placement.
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings with commissioning teams to discuss individual care packages.
  • Encourage children and young people to participate in agency development and community opportunities.
  • Participate in an out‑of‑hours support rota.
  • Conduct occasional initial home visits and Form F assessments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Social Work qualification (degree level).
  • Professional registration with Social Work England (or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to produce high‑standard written reports.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Midlands (including occasional overnight stays).
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid working – a mix of office days in Bromsgrove and remote days.
  • Travel required across Birmingham, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton and surrounding areas.
  • Occasional out‑of‑hours on‑call rota.
  • Enhanced DBS check required for successful candidates.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Company car or £2,000 car allowance.
  • 30 days’ annual leave, increasing to 35 days with length of service, plus Bank Holidays.
  • Life assurance and company pension scheme.
  • On‑site free parking.
  • Employee discount scheme.
  • Medical cash plan.

Opportunities for Growth

Our organization values professional development. You will have access to training, mentorship, and clear pathways to senior leadership roles within our regional and national network.

If you are passionate about fostering and ready to make a difference, we invite you to submit your application through our online portal. The hiring team will review your submission and contact you promptly.

We are an equal‑opportunity employer and a Disability Confident employer.
