Employment Solicitor
Eventus Legal are seeking an Employment Solicitor to join a highly regarded regional law firm on a permanent, full-time basis in Birmingham, West Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for an Employment Solicitor with between 3 to 5 years’ PQE to join a successful and growing employment team offering high-quality work, genuine career progression and flexible hybrid working.
Based in Birmingham, this Employment Solicitor job provides the opportunity to work closely with experienced senior lawyers while playing an active part in business development, networking and long-term team growth. About the Role
As a Employment Solicitor, you will join a busy and well-established employment team handling a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for both employers and employees. This is a varied and rewarding opportunity offering exposure to complex work alongside strong client contact and involvement in business development initiatives. The successful Employment Solicitor will also have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues while continuing to develop their own technical and commercial expertise within a collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Advising both employers and employees on a broad range of employment law issues
- Handling Employment Tribunal claims from initial instruction through to conclusion
- Managing complex matters involving TUPE, redundancy and workplace restructures
- Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements on behalf of employers and employees
- Advising on restrictive covenants, confidentiality issues and workplace disputes
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies and staff handbooks
- Collaborating with colleagues and senior lawyers to develop strategies and achieve client objectives
- Supporting business development initiatives including networking and client relationship management
- Contributing articles, legal updates and seminar content to support team visibility and growth
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the employment team
- Preparing court documentation, legal submissions and client correspondence
- Conducting legal research and analysis to support ongoing matters
About You
You will be a confident and commercially aware Employment Solicitor with strong technical knowledge and experience managing your own caseload. The successful Employment Solicitor will enjoy building lasting client relationships and working collaboratively within a supportive team environment. This opportunity would suit someone proactive, approachable and motivated to continue developing their career within a respected regional law firm in Birmingham.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualified Solicitor with between 3 to 5 years’ PQE in Employment Law
- Experience managing Employment Tribunal claims and complex employment matters
- Strong technical knowledge across both contentious and non-contentious employment law
- Ability to prioritise workloads effectively and manage competing deadlines
- Proactive and commercially minded approach to client service and business development
- Excellent IT skills and confidence using legal systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate legal documentation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills when dealing with clients and stakeholders
- Professional and collaborative approach to team working
- Interest in mentoring and supporting junior team members
