ABB Global Electrical Safety Manager __ Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will contribute to improving electrical safety performance in the Europe region and across ABB. You will support all divisions in the region by applying your specialist knowledge in offering solutions and advice to cultivate a high-performance electrical safety culture. The work model for the role is: #Remote, #Li-remote Your main stakeholders will be Electrical Safety Champions and operational teams in the region as well as the ABB Electrical Steering Committee (Steco). You will be mainly accountable for:
- Providing expert advice, in-house training and consultancy services to all BAs and Divisions in the Europe Region to help ensure compliance with ABB's electrical safety program.
- Championing ABB electrical safety initiatives in all applicable businesses in the region and providing technical and electrical safety support and advice to personnel working at ABB facilities and ABB project and customer sites.
- Collaborating with those divisions that work on or near electrical lines, equipment, or systems or in an environment where there is an increased probability of electric shock, electrocution or arc flash events occur-ring. Monitoring local electrical safety laws, regulations and standards and providing technical support and guidance to ensure compliance when changes occur.
- Advising all ABB Divisions in the region on compliance with ABB standards and local government regulations as they relate to electrical safety.
- Providing regular electrical safety performance updates to Steco and Electrical Safety Champions and ensuring regular dialogue with all Divisional Electrical Safety Authorities.
- Delivering Electrical Competency and Authorization Program (ECAP) Assessor training, undertaking ECAP assessments for Senior Authorized Person candidates and aligning the divisions according to the electrical competency model.
- Providing technical support to project, service, facility, maintenance, R&D and test area Managers to ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and government regulations.
- Supporting BA or Division HSE auditors by conducting electrical safety audits in the region in direct consultation with Divisional and Country HSE Managers and relevant Electrical Safety Champions.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent education and relevant professional experience.
- You are highly skilled in Electrical Engineering principles and methodologies.
- Ability to demonstrate established skills with at least five years of experience in manufacturing, project execution, service, or management roles with a strong electrical engineering focus. Experience working with UPS, Battery, and DC systems is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation and training skills.
- Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a similar technical role within industrial or power-related environments. ABB product knowledge and experience are advantageous.
- Possess enhanced knowledge of electrical systems, electrical safety practices, technical documentation, electrical drawings/schematics, and operational procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, electrical safety regulations, legal briefs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels, from senior management to field-based employees.
- This position requires a willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
