2iC English
About the role
We are seeking to appoint an excellent teacher of English to the role of 2iC English, supporting the leadership of the department and helping to secure strong curriculum delivery, high expectations and excellent outcomes for pupils.
This is an important development post within a subject area that sits at the core of school success. English has a profound impact on pupils' reading, writing, confidence and future opportunity, and this role offers the chance to take on meaningful responsibility while continuing to grow as a classroom practitioner and emerging leader.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of English and wider team to support curriculum, assessment, intervention and day-to-day departmental organisation. They will help maintain consistency, strengthen practice and ensure that pupils experience ambitious, purposeful and well-taught English lessons.
For the right colleague, this is a rewarding opportunity to move beyond the classroom alone and begin to shape provision, support others and prepare for future middle leadership in a highly successful and ambitious school community.
What we are looking for
A strong classroom practitioner in English who is ready to take on additional responsibility within the department.
Someone who can teach English well across Key Stages 3 and 4 and support the maintenance of consistently high standards.
A colleague who understands the importance of literacy, curriculum coherence and effective assessment in improving life chances.
A professional who is organised, reliable and able to contribute positively to departmental systems, planning and communication.
Someone ready to develop their leadership through supporting curriculum work, intervention, resources, quality assurance or team development.
A teacher who builds respectful relationships, values feedback and wants to grow within a collaborative and ambitious team.
