Job Description

ALTEN Ltd is a leading engineering consultancy, providing high-end engineering services to world-renowned clients across Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, and Energy sectors. We are currently seeking a Software Test Engineer to support a high-profile aerospace customer on a critical test automation and integration project.

This project involves the design, development, and testing of control systems for next-generation aerospace platforms. You will be contributing to the development and validation of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test systems to ensure the software and hardware components function safely and reliably under simulated real-world conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct software testing at multiple levels: Unit testing, Software- software integration testing, Hardware - software integration testing
• Design and build test rigs with custom DAQ systems and wiring layouts
• Develop automated test procedures for embedded aerospace software
• Perform HIL (Hardware-in-the-loop) and SIL (Software-in-the-loop) simulations
• Integrate test rigs using industry-standard platforms ( Speedgoat, NI, dSPACE, or Vector )

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

• Must have a degree in Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink (Simulink preferred) or LabVIEW for test development and automation
• Experience with test platforms such as Speedgoat (preferred), NI, dSPACE, or Vector
• Strong hands-on experience with HIL test rig development, hardware/software integration, and test automation frameworks
