Pay rate: £95-£120 per day (Depending on experience)

Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs by helping them access learning in a structured, nurturing, and consistent environment!

GSL Education are searching for a resilient and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join schools in Birmingham. The Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them build confidence, stability, and positive learning habits.

Main Duties of SEMH TA:

* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
* Support behaviour management using de-escalation strategies.
* Help pupils regulate emotions and engage in learning activities.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
* Encourage positive relationships, resilience, and independence.
* Maintain safeguarding standards at all times.

Essential Requirements:

* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs.
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
* Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
