HR & Recruitment Assistant - Birmingham - January 2026
A forward-thinking secondary school in South Birmingham is seeking a dedicated HR & Recruitment Assistant to support all aspects of staffing, compliance and workforce operations from January 2026 .
The Role
Working within a small HR team, you’ll support safer recruitment, staff onboarding, DBS checks, single central record upkeep and general HR administration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Placing job adverts and supporting shortlisting paperwork
- Managing all pre-employment checks and references
- Ensuring the SCR remains fully compliant
- Preparing staff contracts, induction packs and documentation
- Responding to day-to-day HR queries from staff and leaders
- Maintaining HR files and supporting attendance management processes

You Will Bring
- Experience in HR or admin (education experience helpful but not essential)

- Ability to organise workload and meet deadlines
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills
