Locally Employed Doctor (Higher) in Emergency Medicine - HGS sites
We take pride in our team, which consists of 42 dynamic consultants working across both sites (Birmingham Heartlands Hospital and Good Hope Hospital). We have a highly diverse and multidisciplinary department, comprising: *Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) *Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) *Emergency Medicine Higher Resident Doctors *ACCS Resident Doctors *GP Resident Doctors *Foundation Year doctors *Locally Employed Doctors (LEDs) Both sites are academically driven, with strong affiliations with the University of Birmingham and Aston University. We pride ourselves on offering excellent opportunities for development across all aspects of Emergency Medicine. Resident Doctors and Locally Employed Doctors (LEDs) are actively supported to pursue interests in: *Teaching and medical education *Ultrasound (USS) and procedural skills *Quality Improvement (QI) and leadership *Management and service development *Research and academic work Our consultant body is diverse and highly accomplished, including: *Education leads within the UHB Academy and postgraduate training programmes *Strong links with Aston University and the University of Birmingham Medical School *Dedicated Paediatric Emergency Medicine consultants *Active involvement in national research collaborations *RCEM examiners and board members *POCUS trainers *Nationally recognized achievements, including RCEM QI award winners (e.g. Green ED initiatives) This breadth of expertise ensures access to excellent mentorship, supervision, and career development opportunities throughout your time with us.
