In this varied role, you will inherit a substantial and well-established portfolio of mid-market business, with average premiums typically around £15K, but up to £100K. Duties will include underwriting Construction risks across a multi-line portfolio, managing a busy renewal book, and processing mid-term adjustments. You’ll also be responsible for managing strong working relationships with brokers, and cross-selling additional products and services, where appropriate.
This company is highly innovative and offers a unique Construction Combined product, which is being extremely well-received in the market. Refreshingly, this product gives Construction Underwriters rare exposure to cross-class covers including Liability, Contract Works and PI. You’ll be working in conjunction with highly experienced colleagues across the company (including the specialist PI team), who will be able to help you plug any gaps in specific technical knowledge.
It’s essential that you have a successful track record of writing Construction insurance. As the product has a Liability bias, it is crucial that you are competent within this area. Any experience with Contract Works or Construction PI would be advantageous, although this is by no means essential. Importantly, you must be well-organised, conscientious, and a strong team player.
