Teaching Assistant Level 3 - Pastoral Support (SEMH/Significant ASC)
VACANCY FOR TEACHING ASSISTANT LEVEL 3 (PASTORAL SUPPORT – SEMH/ASC)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide pastoral and behavioural support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and/or Autism (ASC). Working closely with the Pastoral Lead and teaching staff, you will support students to develop independence, emotional regulation and positive behaviours for learning.
You will build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, using a trauma-informed approach to understand behaviour as communication and promote inclusion, resilience and self-confidence. The role involves delivering targeted interventions, supporting reintegration into learning, and contributing to individual support plans and progress monitoring.
Qualifications & Requirements
NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent recognised Level 3 qualification)
GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
Experience supporting children or young people, particularly those with additional needs or in a school setting
Understanding of SEN, particularly SEMH and/or Autism
Strong communication, teamwork and relationship-building skills
