Our client is seeking a talented English Teacher to join a thriving secondary academy offering education from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will deliver English across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach A-Level for the right candidate. School Information
This large, oversubscribed 11–18 academy serves over 1,400 students and is well-established as one of the key schools within the Sandwell community. The college benefits from specialist facilities including a modern library, dedicated ICT hubs to support English and Media, and a strong culture of literacy across the school. Students are encouraged to extend their learning beyond the classroom through debating societies, creative writing clubs, theatre trips, and public speaking competitions.
Academic performance is improving year on year. In 2023, 67% of students achieved grades 9–4 in English and Maths, with English results showing particularly strong progress compared to national averages. The school’s Progress 8 score is above average, placing it in the upper tier of schools nationally for value-added progress. At Sixth Form, English Literature and English Language both attract strong uptake, with students going on to study at Russell Group universities and competitive higher education institutions.

Experience and Qualifications
- Qualified English Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with the ability to teach KS3 & KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English Literature and/or Language
- Enthusiastic, engaging, and committed to high standards of teaching and learning
- A formal teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE) or equivalent
- Legal right to work in the UK
