This is an important role within the school, supporting improved attendance and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to access consistent, high-quality education.
The school is a welcoming and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on safeguarding, pupil wellbeing, and strong partnerships with families. Attendance is a key priority for the leadership team, and this role will play a vital part in maintaining high standards and supporting pupils who may be at risk of persistent absence.
The Role
As Attendance Officer, you will take responsibility for monitoring daily attendance, maintaining accurate records, and following up on unexplained absences. You will monitor attendance trends across the school and highlight concerns to the leadership team. This may involve identifying pupils at risk of persistent absence and supporting the implementation of attendance improvement plans.
Administrative duties will include maintaining accurate records, producing attendance reports, and ensuring documentation is kept up to date. You may also support the organisation of attendance-related meetings and liaise with external agencies when necessary.
