We’re recruiting on behalf of a world-leading photonics technology company supplying advanced laser and fibre-based solutions into the aerospace, defence, semiconductor, industrial and scientific sectors. With cutting-edge products, a diverse global team, and significant growth plans, they are looking for a senior Key Account Manager to drive strategic commercial relationships across major A&D customers.

About the Role

This is a senior-level commercial position managing several high-value global customers. You will strengthen long-term partnerships, lead commercial negotiations, identify growth opportunities, and work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver highly technical photonics solutions.

You will represent the business internationally (approx. 25% travel) and play a critical role in shaping future commercial success across the aerospace and defence sector.

Responsibilities

Manage and grow key aerospace & defence accounts

Develop long-term strategic account plans

Drive commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract management

Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts

Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and market development teams

Represent the company at customer meetings, events, and global visits

Provide market insight to support product and strategy development

Ensure compliance with defence export controls and security requirements

About You

Experience in Key Account Management / Strategic Sales within photonics, lasers, optics, aerospace, defence, semiconductors, or high-technology industries

Strong commercial skills with a track record of managing complex customer relationships

Technical understanding of photonics, lasers, or optical systems (or ability to learn quickly)

Fluent in English and German (both written and spoken)

Eligible for, or already holding, SC Security Clearance

Willing to travel up to 25% internationally
