About the Role:

Paragon Home Healthcare  is seeking a  friendly  and  confident driver  to support a 50-year-old gentleman with a  C5 spinal cord injury  following a swimming accident. He is  proactive  and  independent  with his care and enjoys good company, laughter, and being part of daily life—making this a truly enjoyable and fulfilling opportunity.

  About the Role:

Location: B76– a peaceful and accessible area with great local amenities, shops, and transport links close by.
Client personality: Chatty, sociable, and enjoys having his carer integrated into his home life. He likes sharing meals, shopping together, and good conversation.
Driving perks: Driving is an important part of the role. You’ll need to be a confident driver with a clean licence to help with outings, errands, and travel.
Travel opportunities: The carer should be willing and able to travel with the client, so a valid passport or visa suitable for travel is essential.
Daily support: Assist with personal care, mobility needs, and companionship in his comfortable, well-equipped home, empowering his independence while providing friendly and reliable support.

No pets and no smoking in the house.

Male or female applicants welcome, though a female carer may be the best fit personality-wise.

  Rota & Pay:

Rota:  Around 2 weeks live-in at a time, which may shift slightly while things are being established. Alternatively, if eligible, you can be a part of our Standby rota,  working conveniently from home .
Pay rate:  £140.47 per day.
Travel allowance:  Competitive travel allowance for each placement.
Food will be provided by the client, as he enjoys including carers in the weekly food shopping and cooking together.

  Live-In Care Responsibilities

Assist with personal care, mobility, meal prep, and daily living activities.
Provide support with spinal injury care and encourage independence.
Observe and record the client’s health status, and ensure their safety and well-being.
Arrange transportation for appointments, outings, and travel when required.

Location: B76

Driver: Essential – the client goes out every day and carers need to drive the client's adapted vehicle and must have clean driver's licence. You must be a driver and happy to help with regular community outings.

Training & Support:
Paragon is a  specialist provider  of spinal cord injury and complex care. You’ll receive full training before you start, and where possible, time will be given to get familiar with the care routine. No previous experience with spinal care is needed.

Responsibilities

• Observe and record the client's health status.

• Assist clients with activities of daily living.

• Ensure the client's safety.

• Maintain client confidentiality.

• Notify clients of changes in medications.

• Arrange transportation for client appointments.
