As a Mental Health Nurse working in Birmingham, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals with a range of complex mental health needs. Requirements for the Mental Health Nurse Job in Birmingham

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC pin.
  • Experience working in adult mental health, CAMHS, forensic, or crisis settings is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, interventions, and recovery models.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Mental Health Act, safeguarding procedures, and NICE guidelines.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centred care and continuous professional development.

Qualifications and Experience

  • RMN qualification with current NMC registration (essential).
  • Previous experience in a mental health setting (desirable but not essential for newly qualified nurses).
  • Training in CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, or crisis intervention is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with electronic care planning and documentation systems.
